A thoughtful look at Relationships. A moment of reflection on your Journey to More:

If believers are gut honest, they will admit to giving more of their time, energy, and focus, drawing closer to their friends, family, and various activities, than they do in disciplining their souls to draw ever closer to Jesus and His realized Presence.

In terms of real time, each of us needs to carefully evaluate exactly where and how Jesus fits into our established relationship structures and life --- in terms of time, energy and resources. He deserves our best...in fact He asks for our all. Does He get the very best of our soul, mind, heart and strength?

Getting Better at Not Understanding: A moment of reflection on your Journey to More

I want to share a wonderful memory and encouraging story concerning one of God's most passionate followers, Mom Sue Stanford; composed by my dear sis Patti Shaffer: - GETTING BETTER AT NOT UNDERSTANDING -

About a year before my mom died, Lee, Jane and I were all together in Texas visiting mom at her nursing home.

Mom had really declined in her memory. She knew who we were, but she really couldn't communicate much with us.

I just found myself staring and staring at her, and recalling so many memories of our lives together. I noticed her red Bible on the shelf next to her bed. I went over and picked it up, and looked at all the pages of her handwriting and shorthand notes and years of many, many hours of studying reflected in those pages.

On Pain and Suffering; A moment of reflection on your Journey to More

Several well known 'sufferers' have provided us valuable God-insights concerning trials and suffering that most everyone has and will experience in this life. Listen to these men of God speak:

PETER: "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name." 1 Peter 4:12-19 ESV.

God’ Two Greatest Commands. A moment of reflection on your Journey to More:

Briefly, in Matthew 22:37-39, God summarizes His Heart and Heartbeat in “His Two Great Commands”: The first and greatest command: “LOVE GOD with all your heart, soul, and mind.” With the title “greatest command”, comes the assumption that a BELIEVERS GREATEST SIN is to NOT LOVE GOD with their HEART, SOUL and MIND. The command is straightforward. How to love God this way, another question.

In the very same breath, God pinpointed His second greatest command: “LOVE OTHERS as much as we love ourselves”. This identifies man’s second greatest sin; to NOT ‘LOVE OTHERS’ as much as we love ourselves.

What is a true “SEEKER”? A moment of reflection on your Journey to More:

If asked, “Are you a seeker of Jesus”, I suppose that most churched believers would answer with a quick, “yes, of course!”

Before a quick, knee-jerk “yes”, give some careful thought to God’s thoughts, and how He characterizes “seekers” of His Mind, and “seekers” of His Call on their whole life for their whole life:

For the time is coming when people will not understand or accept clear teaching, but will have itching ears that desire teaching that suits their own passions (2 Tim. 4:3)
